2h30 Private Wheel Class

Try out wheel throwing with plenty of guidance in this private course alone or with up to 5 other participants of your choice on the date of your choice. This is a great way to dip your toes into the world of pottery! We will glaze your pieces after the class with our selfmade studio glaze. Before booking your class, write us at info@tothviolaine.com with your availabilities to agree on a date for your class.

In this class, you will learn how to prepare your clay and set your wheel to make bowls and cylinders. After the class, we will glaze and fire 2 of your pieces and will notify you when they are ready to pick it up at the studio within 6 weeks. 

Please note that private wheel classes will not be available in July and August due to a temporary studio closure. Group wheel classes will continue as usual during this period for those who wish to continue learning pottery.

What is included?

• 2.5-hour guided session with expert instruction
• Clay and use of the pottery wheel and tools
• Finishing, firing and glazing by our studio of up to 2 of your pieces after your wheel class (to make your ceramics water resistant and usable) We will glaze your pieces with our special selfmade studio glaze (cf: last pictures)

Who is the class suitable for? This workshop is perfect for beginners who want to try wheel throwing for the first time. If you are a more advanced potter, this class is also suitable to help you perfect your technique and refresh what you've already start learning. It's also great for creative minds looking for a hands-on artistic experience. Write us in advance if you'd like to learn something specific (throw bigger, higher, etc.)

• What to bring? Comfortable clothes that can get dirty, short nails and no rings/bracelets recommended, long hair should be tied back, come as you are 😌 
  
  

Important notes:

- Due to limited space in our studio we can't store your pieces for a long period of time. Therefore your ready ceramics have to be picked up within 1.5 months after you received the notification from us telling you they are fired, otherwise it will be thrown away. Thank you for your understanding.

- We take every possible care during firing, but due to the unpredictable nature of ceramics and kiln processes, we cannot be held responsible for any cracking, warping, glaze defects, or breakage that may occur during firing.

- Only reservations cancelled 7 or more full calendar days prior to the start of the course will receive a full refund or be postponed. After that delay, we cannot postpone or refund your class.
